Andersen’s Salvage Purchases Shredder Plant from Riverside Engineering
Press Release 7/10/07
San Antonio, Texas - July 10, 2007 - Riverside Engineering has announced the sale of an M-88 Shredder System to Andersen's Sales and Salvage for their Greeley, Colorado recycling facility.
The Shredder System ordered by Andersen's Sales includes the 88 X 112 Shredder Mill, Feed System, Operator Station & H2PRO Water Injection. The Shredder plant will be powered by a 4000 HP DC Shredder Drive supplied by Quad Plus and the company's upgrade plan will include a new downstream separation system from Osborn Engineering. The shredding and separation processes will be controlled by a Rockwell Automation system designed by Riverside.
Based on the new capital investment the firm expects to increase their production capacity to shred and recycle over 15,000 tons per month of scrap autos and other metal products into raw materials for reuse by primary metal industries.
"Our choice of Riverside was based on their heavier hammer and the higher inertia of their rotor compared to other shredder manufacturers 80-inch machines." said Dean Andersen, owner of Andersen's Sales. Mr. Andersen expects the new processing facility to be installed by early 2008.
"We have integrated several of the key design features of our MegaShredder into the smaller M-88 system." says Randy Brace, president of Riverside. "We are excited about the opportunity to work with the Andersens on this project. We have high expectations and Andersen's Sales is the perfect customer for our first M-88 installation." The M-88 will complement Riverside's M-122 and M-106 models plus the Newell legacy systems supported by the firm.
Andersen's Sales and Salvage is based in Greeley, Colorado with a 38-acre recycling facility consisting of metal shredding operations along with a self-serve auto parts business. Since the company's founding in 1959, Mr. Kennie Andersen, along with his son Dean, has grown this family owned business into a leading ferrous and non-ferrous scrap processor in the Northern Colorado region.
The San Antonio, Texas based Riverside Engineering (rsengr.com) provides metal shredding solutions into the recycling industry. The M-Series Shredder product line is designed to meet the needs for recycling operations of all sizes. The company is a certified Rockwell Automation Systems Integrator providing control packages for reliable and safe plant operation.
